With the ever increasing move toward digitally reliant businesses, ensuring the security of commercially sensitive and operationally critical information has become paramount for organisations of all sizes and across all sectors, which is why Mercian Labels have taken the proactive step of fortifying our digital resources through the independently audited Cyber Essentials Plus certification.
This not only demonstrates our commitment to protecting the information and data that we own and have access to, but also provides regulatory compliance and risk mitigation for our clients.
The importance of this was highlighted recently in the UK Government’s Procurement Policy Note (PPN 09/23) – https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/ppn-0923-updates-to-the-cyber-essentials-scheme – outlining how in-scope organisations, including all Central Government Departments, their Executive Agencies and non-Departmental Public Bodies and NHS bodies must ensure within 3 months, that effective and proportionate cyber security controls are applied to contracts to mitigate risks.
At Mercian Labels, we have always appreciated that our customers not only trust us with the prompt and efficient design, production and delivery of their exquisitely crafted labels, but especially when it comes to variable data labels, they may also need to trust us with their own customer’s data, which is why we have placed such a strong emphasis on ensuring its protection and security during its journey throughout our organisation.
As the only UK self-adhesive labels producer independently audited and certified to the Cyber Essentials Plus standard, our customers can rest assured that every precaution is taken to protect their data against cyber attacks.
Cyber Essentials – https://www.ncsc.gov.uk/cyberessentials/overview – is a UK government backed scheme which focuses businesses and suppliers on guarding against the most common cyber threats, whilst the Plus certification takes this to the next level, requiring an independent assessment of our cybersecurity, thereby ensuring a higher level of scrutiny and compliance, which is increasingly becoming mission critical.
