The best Pharmaceutical and Chemical labels are made from high quality label substrates, inks, adhesives, finishes and more. Crisp text and graphics are essential, and with our digital and flexographic capabilities we can ensure your labels meet Regulatory specifications and guidelines as well as achieving the look you want.
A unique shape or eye-catching material can add visual appeal to Pharma and Chemical labels, making it easier for consumers and professionals to spot your products. We have thousands of existing shapes and sizes for you to choose from, and hundreds of material options, including our increasingly popular Metallic substrates, to achieve the look you want, and we can even print in Braille.
One problem our customers commonly encounter is the limited space on one label to include additional statements required by law. A great solution for this is to use peel and reveal labels. These are also known as multi-page labels, peel and read labels, or booklet labels. The top layer, packed with all the shelf-appeal you need, can peel back cleanly to reveal the regulatory or multi-language information required.
We also offer variable data printing which is perfect for printing batch numbers, serialised barcodes, multiple languages and more.
Regulatory changes to printed labels on Chemical products – Nov 2024
You may be aware that the European Union have been working for some time to improve their regulations surrounding the Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) of Chemical substances and mixtures, and have now fully agreed and published their amended legislation, as of 20th November 2024.
Why are these changes being made?
The CLP Chemicals legislation is being updated to make it easier for end users to access and understand the product and safety information required by law to appear on the packaging, and also to enable and authorise the introduction and use of more modern methods of accessing product information.
To help product manufacturers understand the new legislation, we have created a summary guide of the major changes, along with a number of supplementary guides covering:
The use of Peel & Reveal labels
The use of ‘Digital’ labels
Supplying chemicals via Refill Stations
Guidance for products where the contents do not exceed 10ml
WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY…
“My experience of Mercian Labels has been fantastic from start to finish. From the beginning they have never failed to impress me. Within 24 hours of first speaking to Mercian Labels I had received a free sample pack in the post showing me the different finishes they can create. I put together my own design and Mercian labels were happy for me to do that, and then they created a printable version. The final product is better than I could have imaged, they are super clear and the colours are amazing. I will continue to use Mercian for my labels and I highly recommend you do too.”
